Mayor Benjie Magalong Attended National ICT Summit 2022

The National ICT Summit is one of the largest information and communication technology events in the country. Initated by the Chief Information Officers Forum (CIOF) Foundation, Inc., among its purpose is to promote the strategic and wider use and also for the application of information and communications technology (ICT) in the Philippine government for more efficient, effective, and transparent public governance.

This year’s ICT summit carries the theme “Toward a Citizen-Centric, Inclusive and Sustainable eGovernance Ecosystem”.

Mayor Benjie was among the speakers who emphasized on the importance of technology in governance. The mayor particularly stated that relevant data is necessary to identify, analyze, and solve problems. He also said that technology is a key element in promoting transparent and effective governance.

Mayor Benjie also presented a virtual tour of the Baguio Smart City Command Center and Engr. Felipe Puzon, Jr., Chief of Staff to the mayor, introduced the practical functionalities (or use cases) of the command center facility.

Held earlier today at the Manila Hotel, the event was attended by DICT officials and personnel, various national government agencies, officers and members of the CIOF Foundation, representatives from the academic and private sectors, and national and local government officials and personnel.
